History
The story of beer in Romania cannot be told without the Czell family. Between 1893 and 1948, they owned breweries in Cluj, Timisoara, Bucharest and Brasov.
The first crate of Bere Czell left the brewery gates on October 15, 1893.
Czell Museum & Tasting Room
In 2020, the work of recovering and revaluing the Czell heritage began, as part of a broader effort to revive a Brasov brewing tradition.
The collection brings together objects, documents and artifacts from 1850 to 1948, tracing the evolution of beer production, distribution and Czell's visual identity.
Today, the space functions both as a museum dedicated to local brewing history and as a tasting room where the historic recipe is experienced in its present form.

A new breath
Lorand Toth, a horticulture student and beer enthusiast, discovered a laboratory certificate in the archives containing the original Bere Czell recipe. He began testing, experimenting, adapting and refining until he recreated the lost taste of Bere Czell, known today under the symbolic name #TheLostTaste.
